Write protection is an invoice lock that ensures your changes to an invoice are not overwritten by another user simultaneously. Write protection is automatically activated when the invoice is opened and lasts for 5 minutes before it needs to be renewed. Activate the Write Protection feature in Settings → Organization Settings → Semine.
Settings
As an administrator, go to Settings → Semine.
Under the Write Protection section, you can choose to enable write protection so that only one user can edit an invoice at a time. You can also choose not to apply write protection when the document is in approval.
Invoice
When this setting is enabled and you open a document that is already being edited by another user, the document becomes write-protected and you see a message similar to the one below.
On a write-protected document, the fields are grayed out and locked for editing while the first user is working on the document.
Other Users on the Invoice
You can also see how many users are viewing the document at the same time.
If you click the user indicator, you can see who is viewing the page and who is editing it.
After a few minutes of inactivity, you are prompted to confirm whether you want to keep the write protection on the document.
When the first user exits the invoice, the invoice is no longer locked. However, the next user must refresh the page before they can begin editing.
